One of my most daunting tasks is review the applications people send in for life insurance quotes. My mind has a tendency to wander into dark and twisty places under most situations, but this particular task has lead to me weeping openly at my desk or stomping around in indignation. It’s hard to explain that to anyone who happens to witness a tirade. It’s never cause by something that is directly said, it’s usually just something that my brain puts together from the list of basic facts and jumbles it around with my mood and caps it off with a hint of whatever the coffee of the day was. I wish I didn’t do this, but I can’t help it. I’ve asked to be given another set of tasks, but my supervisor thinks that I have a good instinct for getting a feel for what the person is really like.
